I'm not on my computer to verify, but I'm pretty sure primewire and videobull are two decent options.

The Killing on Netflix is fucking phenomenal.

I think anyone suffering from True Detective letdown should watch it.

Holy fuck was True Detective ever bad. The characters were fine, the acting was fine, the cinematography was fine, but the plot and writing were TERRRRRRRIBLE. All time bad.

Is this a recent development or has TD always been bad? I've heard lots of good things. (I don't watch much TV; this year is an exception because Blue Jays.)

You'll find a difference of opinion on the first season. I didn't think it was good enough to even justify watching the second one but a lot of people thought it was mostly brilliant. The first few episodes really take their time and tease out a lot of possibility and then it picks up a bit of steam in the middle but then the momentum kind of stops and the ending comes as a bit of a rushed anti-climax. The dynamic between the two main characters is quite interesting. Matthew McConaughey's performance is one of the most memorable in recent tv history so it's almost a must watch just for that but mileage will vary on how much you care for the overall storytelling. I thought it was a bit of cheat, going heavy on atmosphere to cover up weaknesses in the script.

Yes. The Killing was the first show we binged watched after getting Netflix. Pretty much started us on the road to cord cutting.

The first two seasons are amazing. Takes a bit of a dive when they conclude that storyline.

I think I mostly liked the Killing because it's set in Seattle. I just like the constant rain in the background for some reason.

The show was dark, moody, slow-paced, and ominous. Seattle was the perfect setting for it.

I like this kind of setting. Blade Runner is one of my favourites for this reason (obviously sci-fi, but the mood sounds similar to what you're saying).

I might check out the Killing now. Thanks guys.

Se7en also featured a lot of rain. Fincher mentions Seattle as a partial inspiration in his commentary track.

I'm always behind on everything since I don't have TV, but I'm watching The Clone Wars on Netflix, and if you're a Star Wars nerd I'd suggest it. It's basically a primer of the original trilogy without having to watch the prequel movies.
