Vlad is fun to dream on. I'm sure Betts would be very nice to own, but I don't love watching him as a player. Dreaming on the next Carlos Delgado is more fun. Besides, it's not like I have that trade offer.

Oooh getting technical. Cool. Well, you just undervalue whoever you please I suppose. The good thing is that you've overvalued Vlad to the point where you won't trade him because literally no one will pay the sticker price.

That said, Goldy is 30 now, and while Altuve is amazing, I think his career years are behind him. You aren't trading for what those two players did the last 3 years, you're trading for what they'll do over the rest of their careers. I've been waiting for Altuve to collapse since his breakout and it still hasn't happened, so maybe I just have something against him personally.
Altuve is 27 and he's only gotten better lol. To say that his best years are behind him is odd. Also Goldy is not losing much production any time soon. Look at Joey Votto, god among men.

TIL Mookie Betts isnít fun to watch.

Heís like... top 10 for me. Love everything about the person. Talent and style.

I get physical symptoms when I think about how close I was to owning him in this league.

Well probability would dictate that his best years are behind him

I have no interest in trading him so I don't see the problem.

Yea he's gotten impossibly good to the point where there is no further ceiling and little hope of sustaining this level for long. That's all I'm saying.

He is a top 10 dynasty asset, I'm not disputing that. I'm sure his stats would be very enjoyable to own.

Yeah but I never believe you when you say that because nearly 100% of the time you end up trading the player in question.

    So everyone good with this as a rough schedule going into spring;

    Feb 15 - Yahoo Opens
    Feb 25 - DDL Cut-down
Mar 4 - DDL Waiver Draft
    Mar 29 - Opening Day

Gives us a bit of a break between cut-down and draft to survey the available assets and 3+ weeks for the waiver draft

Do I have to call up Robert Stephenson? He's at the limit. Or does he have to pass that limit?

You don't have to call him up, you just risk exposing him to the waiver draft/free agency if he's over the limit after the most recent cut date.

Prospects may be kept on an MiLB roster until the following MLB conditions are met:
    ...
    Pitchers: 26 career X [where X = GS + 0.5(relief appearances)]
Steph is indeed at 26 career X. Rules as written say you have to can keep him on the farm until he reaches X-appearances.

You gotta call the young man up.

The rules don't say you ever have to call someone up. It's just that once he's past the threshold and a cutdown has occurred, any team could pick him up if they want to and he's no longer a protected asset. You are never forced to promote.
