Was surprisingly easy to cross the border, could easily have smuggled anything both ways haha.

Queue took about an hour to get back into the US, but it was worth it to experience traditional Mexican culture:

I got caught freshman year of college smuggling steroids (just for personal use) across the border while walking. They cuffed me and put me in back of squad car but let me go in the end

50% of the tourist stores by the border are pharmacies! People must cross for cheap meds all the time.

Haha, if you couldn't tell - I was being facetious! A donkey painted as a zebra is exactly the kind of crazy tourist trap I imagined though so you're probably right!
