    Movie Thread

Couldn't find one, so thought I'd get this started with this trailer for a film based on a brilliant book starring the late Philip Seymour-Hoffman:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cYORzJ3e-Og

It's of particular relevance to this board since Colby Rasmus makes his acting debut playing a terrorist (0:47).

^Does look really good, most excited I've been for a film since "Locke".

Also, at least now we know why Rasmus grew that greasy beard.

Rasmus father teached him very well. Tremendous performance in front of the mirror cutting his facial hair.

Colby could win an Oscar before a Gold glove....It's insane

Pacific Rim 2 is what I'm hyped for, the first was basically what I wanted Transformers (can't watch that crap) to be, except with monsters instead of decepticons!

    Is it 2017 yet?

Pacific Rim sounded like a stupid concept, and I wasn't expecting much, but that was probably the best action movie I've seen in the last five years.

Yeah I can't wait. I'm worried it's going to flop at the box office because a lot of people don't know much about this one.

Nope but it sounds like a really cool concept and I'm hoping to catch it.

    For anyone unfamiliar,
Boyhood is a 2014 American drama film written, co-produced and directed by Richard Linklater and starring Patricia Arquette, Ellar Coltrane, Lorelei Linklater and Ethan Hawke.

The film was shot intermittently over a twelve-year period, as Coltrane grew from childhood to adulthood; filming began in the summer of 2002 and was completed in October 2013.

I really hope it flops. I'm tired of all of the big development movie going towards comic book adaptations. It's not bad enough they reboot Spiderman and Superman every six years, to tell the same story. Now they're pulling out ridiculous obscure comic book franchises and throwing money at it.

I'm hoping that sooner or later, people will get oversaturated with the comic book movies, and we'll start seeing some fresh scripts.

I'm expecting it to do really well. They have been promoting it aggressively + has the Marvel tag on it with well known stars (Cooper, Diesel, Pratt etc)

Yeah I think they've secured themselves a big opening and that counts for a huge percentage of sales these days. They should be pretty safe.

Watched American Hustle last night on TMN on Demand. Quite entertaining. Christian Bale is such a fantastic actor.

Also, watched Rush last week on TMN and I'm not that big into car/racing movies though it was really good! Never made big headlines at the theatres last year, though it was a great film. Very underrated I'd say!
