I probably would have had him ranked 2nd, although that would have been a tough decision.

Yeah. Possibly 2nd. Definitely no lower than 3rd.

I don't like Rendon. He has age on his side compared to most in the draft but nothing really stands out compared to those in the first 6 or 7 picks

He's also a bit of an injury risk. I understand why people passed. I just wouldn't have.

Why is he an injury risk?

I think his history just makes people nervous, and leads to him slipping in drafts.

The Dodgers will select Jacob deGrom SP to form a two headed monster on the mound with Bumgarner.

I mean, this is a fairly extensive injury list:

    • 2009: torn ligaments in right ankle (surgically repaired)
    • 2010: broken right ankle (surgically repaired)
    • 2011: strained right shoulder (limited to DH for 55 of 63 games played)
    • 2012: fractured left ankle (surgically repaired)
    • 2015: sprained MCL in left knee (rehabbed), strained left oblique (rehabbed)
    • 2015: strained quad, missed a month

The majority of that was a long time ago though. He's been pretty healthy since coming to the majors, aside from the rehabbed knee sprain in 2015.

Yeah, but most of it a long time ago (and his defense suggests the ankle issues in the minors aren't something to worry about going forward).

I've always had the same reservations about him. He proves me wrong every year though, seems criminally underrated because he doesn't hit 30 jacks or steal 20 bags.

I'm willing to trade Carrasco if anyone wants to make an offer for him
