1-15 C Zack Collins - Not the year I was hoping for, but I'd say he maintained his stock this season. Again there were better options available though.

2-42 CF Jahmai Jones - I remember debating between Jones and Bichette here and kicked myself for going this direction for the better part of the season, but Jones could still turn out to be a great pick here IMO.

3-64 RHP Vladimir Gutierrez - Not a bad pick but used to make an awful trade for a scrub AAAA pitcher who I've already dropped

3-72 CF Bryan Reynolds - Was happy to get him at this spot as one of the top college bats in the class, and he had a very good season. Could be a top 100 guy by mid season which makes this a solid pick

3-86 CF JB Woodman - Insert vomit gif

5-121 LHP Jared Miller - Likely going to be rostering this guy as a reliever this year and feel he could have the upside to be a darn good one. Great K numbers and could push for a high leverage role for the D'Backs at some point this season.

6-159 LHP Keegan Akin - Had an OK year but I've dropped him to make room for something more interesting

    6- 162 SS Allen Cordoba - Quickly traded for a 4th round pick #smallvictories

    Grade -> C- (at best)

Romero and Collins stock have taken a little hit but deff not busts or anything. Jahmai Jones was a fantastic pick, I remember being sniped by you on him.

I would give you a C+/B-. The Collins pick is a little worse since you traded Alex Cobb for that pick, but you were new at the time. I can't really blame you, as I really liked the pick at the time...I think the lesson here is to be very wary of catching prospects.

Nothing wrong with starting the draft early guys, but there's no obligation until the start time, if someone wants to be a dick, so be it. \_(ツ)_/

We set official start dates for a reason. If people want to start the draft early, nothing wrong with that. If someone's window comes up before the draft date, they shouldn't be obligated to make a selection until the official draft starts. If other managers are worried about that manager having a longer time window to make trades, or if more prospect info gets discussed or leaked out, guess what, its there problem for starting it early.

Technically, the draft officially starts on Sunday. So TCA isn't obligated to make a selection and technically can still trade his draft pick regardless. If he wants to burn this entire time until the official start time, I really don't care. He's within the rules still and his official clock hasn't started yet.

That's an oversight in the rules because some people wanted to start the draft early. That's my complaint, not that TCA is taking advantage of it.

The draft should either start for real or not start at all.

    Anyways...

    Latest trade:
    San Fran:
    Dylan Bundy
    2-5

    For:

    Tigers
    Cole Hamels
    2019 1st round pick
    2018 2nd round pick.

I actually really like that trade for the Tigers.

This is quite true, meant to comment yesterday. Quality offers, a few tweaks and done if you're interested. Sometimes a straight accept, no sweat. Love it that way.

I think it depends whether Hamels rebounds or not. If he puts up a season like last year, then it's basically Bundy for a 2019 1st and back end starter which doesn't seem that great. I guess we'll see what he manages to trade Hamels for, because obviously he isn't keeping him.

Ah so Gibbers isn't colluding with me now to make my LOD team better? jks.

If Hamels rebounds and pitches like he did in 2015-2016, and if my team crashes & burns in 2018, then I might be regretting the deal. My reasoning to do this was to get a younger arm and I think Bundy is an arm that could take that next step forward as he enters his age-25 season. Willing to take that risk and sometimes you have to in a deep league like this. Having a potential 1-2 punch with Bundy & Rodon at the top of my rotation could be real nice if both of those arm deliver on their potential in the next year or two.

Hamels' low K rate and high BB rate were a concern of mine and his age. My 1st and 2nd round pick in 2019 likely will be in the later part of those rounds, if my team is in playoff contention. As well, I tried packaging my 2019 1st round and 2nd round picks in other deals, though nothing was getting done.

I have no idea what you're talking about with the first comment. lol

Yeah, it's not trape or anything...i just like his side better in a vacuum. Obviously when you consider he has like 645 first round picks in 2019 it's not as good.
