You can look at some of the guys that went first round in the 2016 draft to help gauge value. Obviously it''s not ideal since 2016 is still so recent but it will give you an idea of some of the talent that's available in the new player draft.

Have you guys noticed the Sabermetric tab on the team page display screen? Is this new, or am I late to the party?

    *Shrugs*

I also like how they have batting average and ERA under the ratio stats in the "Sabermetric" tab.

I got a kick out of Inciarte having the 2nd best ISO and wOBA on my team...

He's already passed his Dinger total from last year, lol.

    also,

    FUCK Starling Marte

He won't go to my farm or injury reserve. Am I gonna be stuck with his stupid ass on the bench for 80 games?

It's more than I would've been willing to give for Waino's "services", so there's that.

    - Houston and Washington play in the Tank Bowl for the period of July 10-23. (Could effect end of season win totals)
    - Houston could benefit heavily from Kevin Pillar or Nick Ahmed going on a week long tear at anytime, or could see some prospects promoted towards the mid/end of the season.

I'll say he gets lucky and ends up with 38. Go!

I think there is a pretty big difference in how different owners in this league value a 1st round pick.

Wainwright kind of sucks now IRL, but some of it might be ERA luck. His FIP is OK right now and projects OK. He also ticks a lot of boxes for this league since his K/BB should be fine and he gets groundballs.

Connorp has been squatting on that pick for a while, hoping to get a SP. I bet he's thrilled to land Wainwright for it.

Yeah unlike some of my other recent trades where it was more desperation, I liked this deal a lot. I like Waino and unlike Shields he translates well for this league. But with age and declining performance I knew most would like it for maah.

In a vacuum I think the pick is more valuable but i have a title to defend

Seems pretty fair to me, maybe skews slightly in your favor if he performs similar to last year.
