Here are some games from year-end lists that I am interested in:

    Zelda BoTW
    Horizon ZD
    Pyre
    Observer
    Dishonored: Death of the Outsider
    Prey
    Unexplored
    Tacoma
    NieR: Automata
    Torment: Tides of Numerera
    What Remains of Edith Finch
    Cuphead
    Super Mario Odyssey
    Night in the Woods
    Nioh
    Hollow Knight
    Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice

As you can tell, I didn't really play much in 2017. I probably won't have time to play much in 2018 either.
I already know I'll be investing time in Zelda, borrowing it from a family member when they are done with it in a few months.

Did any of the other above games blow your socks off? Or utterly disappoint you? Please let me know! They all look so interesting, and they are pretty different.

Or any games not on the list. Including 2016 titles. I still want to sink some time into Tyranny.

    Zelda slays.

Prey is fucking great. (If you like System Shock, you will like Prey.)

Didn't play Death of the Outsider, but the Dishonored games are always very good (same developer as Prey).

My girlfriend played Super Mario for two hours at someone's house during Christmas Eve and now wants to buy a Switch, so that's something.

Haven't touched anything else there, but maybe one day.

If you like Tyranny you'd probably enjoy Divinity Original Sin 2.

Want to get a Switch eventually, though prices still have stayed the same. I'll wait until there is a price drop, though its unlikely with Nintendo.

I really want to play Cuphead. Probably the best art style I've ever seen for a game, they captured that old schooly cartoon feel to a T.

PS Zelda is overrated, as usual. People just love sucking Zelda's cock.

Horizon ZD was fantastic, probably the best storyline I've ever seen in a game. Gameplay lagged a bit, but definitely worth a buy.

Even though it's not on your list, I thought Xenoblade 2 was pretty good, it's a JRPG, but I liked the gameplay personally.

Zelda was fucking great though, Boxy's just being salty.

Have to say, assassin Creed origins impressed me positively. Didn't think I'd enjoy ancient Egypt.

True. Can't believe I forgot that you can immediately travel to the end of the game to get immediately destroyed by the final boss, who I assume is Ganondorf, again, because the final boss is always the same person. The story in every game is always the same "save Zelda from Ganondorf." Also, Nintendo has the incredible principle of still making link communicate via generic yelling and shouting. Whoa! Such technology. Such innovation.

Is the switch 1080p, or is that due for the next console, when everyone else will be 8k?

I picked up Rise of the Tomb Raider during the Steam holiday sale, and have really been enjoying it. First time I think I've played one of the games in that series.

Yeah, that one is pretty good for the most part but the preceding game from 2013 is garbage.

I just picked up the Horizon ZD expansion which was on sale over the holiday. Just an amazing game and if there was a TV show or movie to be based on any game last year... that should be the game.

I grew up 20 minutes from that reservation. Poundmaker is very misunderstood by history

That's probably true for a lot of history's famous people. I found the Gandhi part really amusing though.
