    Can someone kindly explain to me what the fuck is going on regarding Big Bang vs Universe Has Existed Forever and all that jazz in such a way that a moron like me could understand?

    It's a super easy answer. Big Bang isn't an explanation of how the universe came to be, rather how it expanded.

    Close but not quite, it pretty much covers the beginning of classical spacetime, as described by Einstein in his theory of relativity. It cannot explain the exactmoment of time zero. It can't say anything about quantum time as you good Connor being a scholar of string theory should know

    Sean Carroll has an excellent lecture to go along with his his book which I found awesome. It's called The Arrow Of Time it proposes multiverse theory, which has become very popular among prominent physicists, still can't be falsified though. If I wasn't on my phone, I'd link it to YouTube, I'll do it later.

    I don't follow. The BBT is in fact a theorized single moment in time that doesn't attempt to explain the universe's origin. How the conditions existed for there to be a BBT is what you're referring to, no?

    Also when I first addressed this post I had not seen any of the new research the poster was obviously alluding to

    I got to see him a couple years ago. He was talking about the Higgs Boson, but still a great talk.
