I can only hope the Vega cards are as impressive.
I guess you can take comfort in the fact that it's never really a good time to buy new technology. Whether it's cameras, phones, computers, your money always goes further when you look into the future. Any time you take the plunge, you just have to accept that it will look like a sub-optimal investment almost immediately.

It's true and I am getting the performance I want, plus I did save a bunch on Boxing Day deals so it isn't all bad. I guess I should just hope this can continue until I need my next upgrade.

In sports, not sure how this would work. NFL players would need hundreds of these every game.
Yeah thinking that through it would be pretty stupid in an NFL game to have to replace them constantly. NHL might still be passable.

Actually I take it all back, this technology is 100% dumb.

This isn't news but it came up in conversation today and I figure I'd share since it's an odd bit of research trivia.

You mean to say that you DON'T bring this up when you see a dog pooping?

Ya I know right? Like the first thing to the tip of tongue when seeing my dog take a shit is " I wonder if he's pooping this way because of the earth's magnetic field?"

The new Nvidia 1080 Ti looks amazing. Huge performance bump. Here's a review on it: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/...0-ti,4972.html

This isn't quite in the realm of scary (just yet), but it's pretty cool and extremely clever:

So basically drone taxis. Since nothing ever goes wrong with drones, I can't see any any issue with this.

More programs taking advantage of bugs:

This one is interesting. Uses the computing power (or some of it) to mine cryptocurrency, and apparently actively prevented the computers from being infected from anything else to help it remain undiscovered.
