Is there another starter in baseball that thrives by getting tons of whiffs on a 92 mph fastball he throws 90% of the time? It's a weird skill set.

Bartolo comes to mind but he doesn't get whiffs.

I think we'll see him throw more changeups or curveballs in his next start though.

    The closest is probably Happ.

I don't think he was in the BP handbook or Dinger would basically be swallowing Peralta's cock.

Yeah I'm just bitter that I wasted my waiver.

J.A. Happ for sure, and yeah LHP whatever. I think his 12-6 slider/curve is pretty nasty though, he's not just gonna rely on his fastball.

My favourite quote from the most recent Fangraphs article.

The lefty throws a curveball that doesn’t curve. He throws a pitch labeled as a sinker that does’t sink. It has above-average spin (2,400 rpms) and the rise of a four-seamer. And his changeup is similar in moment profile to that of Stephen Strasburg and Alex Wood, with a significant amount of fading action coupled with positive vertical movement.

In my view, as good as my pitching has been, that's how as bad my hitting has been.

    Said Tim McCarver.

Looking to acquire SP - open to moving the following: Gyorko, Solarte, Chapman, Gardner, picks and all non Robles/Sixto prospects.

    Also, calling up Gleyber Torres

How freaking good is Gleyber Torres. He's been a consistently excellent hitter across all levels since the beginning of last year. He could be Manny Machado.
