The 2017 season hasn't ended yet and Biagini is already the 5th ranked starter signed for next year and I'm assuming Borucki will get a serious look next spring. Very good chance he starts the year in the BP unless he earns the #5 spot or at least two SP ranked ahead of him start the year on the DL. One or two signings and Biagini could drop to #8 on the depth chart. Though I'm personally rooting for him and think there is a SP spot for him in the future.

He's been pretty solid this year.

Shatkins said he wants 8-9 MLB starters. I agree with you he shouldn't be given a rotation spot but I think he'd be a great fit in the 6 or 7 spot for us. I'd probably start him in Buffalo and woulf fully expect him to get 20 starts or so.

STL needs a closer, too. Maybe Donaldson and Osuna for their top 5 prospects?
    One can dream...

I wouldn't mind trying to get Reyes and O'Neill from the Cards though.

Personally I'm staying far away from O'Neill as possible.

Fair. That K rate is pretty bad. Guess I'm just a sucker for the Canadian prospects. I wouldn't be against the Jays holding on to a pitcher in a trade with the Cards and using the extra pieces plus a couple of our own prospects in a trade for an established outfielder or starting pitcher though. Sign one top pitcher or outfielder to a big contract and use guys acquired in a Donaldson trade to get the other piece without decimating our farm system.

So it's pretty hard to believe that Bautista provided less value in his final year as a Jay than Ryan Goins did. He should probably not play tomorrow to preserve his .201 BA.

Goins almost managed to catch Bautista in SLG lol. I really hope he's injured or something, and it's not just age.

May have been a Rogers decision unrelated to the baseball product. Reorganization of roles and responsibilities. Happens all the time in every business.

Good they haven't updated the site. I got a screenshot so I can tell where they cut the other 20 from.

    BASEBALL MEDIA
Vice President, Baseball Media Jay Stenhouse
    Manager, Baseball Information Mal Romanin
    Coordinator, Baseball Information Erik Grosman
    Coordinator, Baseball Media Sue Mallabon

that is the entire Baseball Media dept. with the exception of the VP and he's been with the team since he was in Grade 9

Chris Joyner and Mike Frostad among those let go. Likely to do with the stuff he said about Sanchez and Travis last week.

there were times in the season that I was frustrated, our players were frustrated because of some of the inefficiency of our communication.”

“That happens in transitions, so that’s on me, that’s where I’ve got to ensure that doesn’t occur,” Atkins continued “… and when we are touching players with information and potential options and potential decisions to be made, that we’re much more streamlined, cohesive and leading that process.”

I'm just reminded by that one start against the Orioles he had where he looked legitimately unhittable...I think there's a really good starter somewhere in there.

Wonder of the PR firings had to do with the Donaldson rumour. Apparently they were well regarded by a lot of media members.
