Let's all post our favourite Neil Ramirez memories on this sad day. Mine was the day he was acquired. I really thought he had potential.

In a calendar year that makes the Cubs, Brewers, Twins, Giants and now Jays that have dumped him. All while putting up some solid K numbers.

Tepera should have gone before Ramirez.

They might get him through waivers. He did go through the NL last time.

This FO seems very hesitant when it comes to replacing marginal talent with higher-upside marginal talent. I guess it's probably about not disrupting the clubhouse if a guy is well-liked? I dunno, Ramirez seems more desirable than Tepera to me. Legit strikeout stuff.

    Bolsinger recalled

Will apparently make at least one spot start

Goins over Upton seems to be an example of this. Tepera and other over Barnes, Ramirez, etc. is another example. Giving multiple starts to Latos and especially Lawrence over Bolsinger and others. It's weird.

Zeke, Goins, Smoak and Tepera are all replacement level trash but have a roster spot firmly cemented. It's dumbfounding, but Gibby probably likes them or something.

Barnes makes more sense because he has options and we can maintain our depth.

It shouldn't be that surprising. Zeke and Smoak are both sporting wRC+ over 100 in a lineup that has struggled overall. Replacement level isn't a subjective term and Carrera has been better than that for a while now.

If Zeke is better than replacement level, it's certainly not by much.

Look I hate Tepera as much as the next guy, but he's also struck out almost a batter an inning and has posted 0.4 WAR over his past 35 innings. Zeke's put up 1.1 WAR in his last 380 PA's. I'm not sure it's fair to shit on the FO for keeping these guys around. I suspect they tried to keep Goins around for the very scenario that played out (Tulo injury) as I doubt they think Barney can cover SS for an extended period. Smoak sucks - shit all over him.

How long do we wait on Grilli and Howell before you just cut your losses?
