100% - I'd be looking to trade Pearce (or Morales, but realistically Pearce is the one that another team might want).

That's really interesting. I wonder if Shapiro will just get someone from the high perf. dept to be the trainer.

    Chisolm:

Toronto spent approximately $170 million on 2017 payroll and is expected to be working in a similar range next year. The Blue Jays currently have approximately $90 million in guaranteed salaries for next season, but that figure jumps to $140-145 million once arbitration and pre-arbitration players are factored in. That leaves upwards of $25-$30 million to spend on a starter, an outfielder and another piece for the bullpen.

Meh I don't think losing Poulis is a huge deal.

It looks that way. I could see them hovering around .500 but it’s going to take a hell of an off season to put them at a higher level than that. Just have to hope the club is internally bracing itself for a Donaldson trade rather than placating a fanbase that will run away the first sign of struggling anyway.

.500 is the worst thing that can happen. Mediocre teams are paralyzed to commit to change. A bomb of a season needs to happen so there's no doubt what they need to do.

Front Office ratings, as per the Fangraphs community.

The Jays are way too low.

So Fangraphs readers believe that a team run by the people who built Cleveland is a below-average FO.

Fangraphs has become pretty mainstream. They only see it as the FO who is responsible for having the Jays finish last this year

Shouldn't that fanbase already be running? We sucked last year and likely will this year.
