Not that I want to trade him, but with what relief pitching goes for these days, can you even imagine the kind of return he would fetch with 3 years of relatively cheap control.

The right-hander turned in his third straight excellent year last season, tossing 64 innings of 3.38 ERA ball with career-best strikeout (11.67 K/9), walk (1.27 BB/9) and groundball (48 percent) rates.

    Boooo. Trade him
I'd definitely kick the tires on moving him. In this market he could fetch quite the haul.

Might need to send him off soon though, arbitration deals for good closers can get expensive in a hurry. Why waste money on a closer now when their real window isn't gonna start until after his arm years are over and he's a free agent?

Osuna looks like he's gained some weight this offseason (not in the good way).

I don't see what you're looking at, bit if a loose fitting shirt maybe but he doesn't seem chunky at all

He's never been hard-bodied. He went from chunky to skinny fat to skinny.

When I saw him pitch for Vancouver he was downright fat. Looked like a bowling ball with limbs. Today's look is like night and day

Maybe it is a bad angle but he looks a lot wider than in a pic like this https://www.google.ca/search?biw=136...33Z1HiLhaHygM:

Would anyone trade Morales for either Alex Gordon or Ian Kennedy?

    No, they cost too much.

If KC would even out the $ (or nearly) then I would for Gordon. But the costs aren't particularly close and I don't see why they would be motivated to do that.

Gordon has been really bad for 2 years now.

Even if we have $20M left there.

In an effort to get rid of 23 million you are going to take even more salary back? I'd settle for a token non prospect player in return if they would take on his salary or most of it.

Turning $23m (Morales) of deadweight into $49m (Kennedy) or $44m (Gordon) of deadweight doesn't make a lot of sense. Might as well just keep Morales and hope he bounces back if those are the alternatives.

If Alonso got 2/16, then no way any team trades for Morales except the derpy Royals who might have some sentimental attachment to him if they lose Hosmer, and even that's a reach (or a prayer).

The Royals were the only team that popped into my mind as a team that might take him on if they don't get hosmer. Even if we had to chip in 5 mil this year I would do it.

If the Royals fail to resign either Hosmer or Cain then they’ll likely go full rebuild.

In that case, they might bring Morales back as a sop to the fans, but would probably demand a prospect too. Maybe we could offer Pompey, who is blocked here but still has a chance of being a MLB player elsewhere IMO.
