I’m hoping we get something like that, too. It would mean the older guys can rotate through DH once in a while, too, while Diaz and Solarte can get plenty of playing time. I’d like to add someone like Cain to the outfield though. We haven’t spent much this offseason, so it’s doable. Cain, Pillar, Alford/Hernandez would be a pretty solid OF.
Who knows, if the Padres get Hosmer and the Royals want a DH/1B to kill time during their rebuilding, they might find Kendrys at 2/23 doable. They have to spend money on something. That’s a long shot though.
The front office likes Pearce and with good reason but he loses a lot of value in LF. Maybe the Jays add someone like Dyson and stick him in RF. That would mitigate some of Pearce’s shit D.
Even if we can't move Morales we should move him to the bench and start Pearce. Very similar bats but Pearce runs like Ricky Henderson compared to Morales. Morales' baserunning alone was worth about -1.0 WAR last year. Pearce also cannot field whatsoever.

Olivares really became an intriguing talent. I was looking forward to his progression. But Solarte will help us. Plays multiple positions, has a little pop, and has a team friendly contract. Infield depth looks good we still need to badly address the Outfield and add another starter though.

I'm trying not to read much into that article. But the fact that Shatkins said he is comfortable with the Outfielders we have to start the season kind of scares the shit out of me.
Full quote:
"I think definitely that need remains and that will be one of the holes we look to fill to complement our outfielders," Atkins said. "We also feel as though we have a very good group that could be potentially at triple-A. We feel like we could start the season with the outfielders that we have.
"We will definitely look to see if there’s a way to upgrade or compliment our outfield."

I wonder if we now see Travis tested in LF in spring training? If it worked it’d protect his dodgy knees a bit more than 2B.
