Good depth signing. Let's them move some other pieces if need be. They need another starter, and stat.

I'd feel a lot more comfortable with this team if we had a Seattle-calibre offense.

The 17th best wOBA in the league shouldn't be what we are shooting for, but I feel that our offense will be improved going into next season.

It would be a nice stepping stone from 25th

Why are you using wOBA and not wRC+?

Is it because the Mariners were 5th?

That ML roster looks kinda gross.

No way Zeke starts on this team unless there are injuries. Atkins probably adds another outfielder, Pearce starts in left field, and then they allocate the rest of the money to the pitching side.

Pearce should not start over Hernandez IMO. Hernandez is the better OF. Pearce should start over Morales though.

Need another starter too, but even if all of those holes are filled, Jays are still a longshot to win WS.

I agree but I don't see them benching the vetrin Morales, and Pearce has no where else to play. They pretty much have to trade Pearce or start him in one of the corner outfield spots. No room on the bench with Solarte, Diaz, and Zeke there. Of course they could trade Morales, but that's a pipe dream.

A Pearce/Zeke platoon in LF isn't ideal at all imo of they truly want to contend..but the bigger issue is no true backup CF. Zeke can play there in a pinch but I don't ever want him suiting up as a starter there for more than 1 or 2 games in a row and only due to injury.

Find a way to dump Kendrys, let Pearce DH, Zeke to the bench and hopefully Alford is healthy and starts in LF. Then if Pillar goes down, Alford can go to CF and Zeke to a corner and bring up someone else to fill the bench role.

More likely Alford in Buffalo and called up when needed.

Contend??? This season looks like year 1 of a 5 year rebuild to me.

Alford will be called up from AAA and is the back up CF if Pillar is out for any significant length of time.

As you say, Carrera is pencilled in to fill in for the handful of games at CF where Pillar is rested.
