    Any Knife Enthusiasts?

We all like baseball but do you like knives as well?

Fixed blade, folding, tactical/military, kitchen, multi-tool etc are fair game.

My favorite high quality/$ are American made folding knives from manufacturers like Benchmade and Spyderco. Really interested in some of the Italian knives from Lionsteel and Fox but are hard to find in Canada. There are some really good value knives from Gerber and Buck. Plenty of others too.

CRKT has a huge catalogue and some cool looking knives but have never pulled the trigger.

Canadians are very limited as to what they can buy thanks to our current government. Really interested to see what some of our great American knife enthusiasts carry everyday for self defense, survival/camping, hunting etc and what Canadian members use for hunting/camping and daily utility.

When I was at my old company I liked using a 10" breaker and a boning knife. I'd use an 8" breaker for chicken but those were my guys. Now that I'm at my new company we have communal knives and I really only use a 10" breaker (I forget the brand but I think it's like Culinary Cuts or something but they suck). The other brand I had at my old store started with an "I" I think and they were pretty good. Oh, I'm a butcher.

I think he's talking about knives for stabbing people.

This has been my go-to knife for atleast 25 years. It's held up great, never lost it's edge.

I'd like to own a switchblade but I don't think they're allowed here.

Police won't bother you if you have to carry one for protection, trust me, they've told my ex-wife to carry one straight after she was mugged in our underground parking.

Yeah, I wouldn't really be worried about getting in trouble for having one, I just meant that since they're prohibited I wouldn't even know where to find one.

Head-shops DT... I'd imagine, I'm sure it's relatively easy. They sell em on Amazon.ca, vdub.

Can never go wrong with the good old KaBar. I carry one whenever I go camping and it's all the knife you ever need.

I'm a big fan of knives. But not just any knife. It has to be special.
Mostly I use them to spread things on bread, but sometimes bagels or buns as well. That is why my preferred knife is a butter knife.

Ideally, I don't like them too sharp, as there's no need. flat on both sides provides easier spreading capability.
A gradual serrated edge, also allows for the butter to be scraped more easily, particularly in the event that it comes out of the fridge cold.
