Armchair GM Time- What moves would you make to spark the offense?

Roster Resource currently has the team construction looking like this:

    Lineup
    1. R- Springer CF
    2. R- Espinal 2B
    3. R- Vlad Jr. 1B
    4. R- Bichette SS
    5. R- Teoscar DH
    6. R- Chapman 3B
    7. R- Gurriel Jr. LF
    8. R- Jansen C
    9. L- Tapia RF (currently listed in a platoon)

    Bench
R- Kirk C (listed in platoon)
    R- Capra INF/OF
    L- Zimmer OF

What would you change up other than firing Montoyo? Switch the lineup around? Make a callup? Let's hear it!

    Josh Bell and Andrew Benintendi

A couple LHB that can actually hit.

    Bell 1B/DH
    Benny anywhere in the OF

Fire Tapia and Zimmer into the sun.

Gurriel hitting like shit doesn't surprise me, he always starts that way. But what Teo is doing right now is unbelievable.

Ok well significant trades is one route but I don't see that happening for close to another 2 months.

Trades shouldn't count for this thread. It will just turn stupid.

I wouldn't be opposed to this. 5-8 are interchangeable based on who is hot.

    Espinal
    Kirk
    Teoscar
    Chapman
    Gurriel

    Just to shake it up

    Kill the hitting coach

    1. Nate Pearson started his low A rehab today do should be 7 to 10 days away. When he is ready outright release Borucki.

2.Between Tapia and Zimmer I prefer Zimmer for his D. Bring up Nathan Lukes from AAA and give the man some playing time.

    3. Jano and Kirk should be alternating Dh/catching assignments. Want Charlie to have minimal freedom with the lineup in this regard. Don't want either sitting right now.

    4. Top of the batting order should be:
    Espinal
    Bo
    Springer
    Vladdy
    Teo
    Everyone else
I know George likes to leadoff but right now I would rather him or Bo batting in potential rbi situations. If Teo and Vladdy heat up adjust accordingly.

I think these are good ideas and about as bold as we could go, though I don't think trading Kirk is in the cards just yet as a big trade like that seems unlikely. I also would keep Tapia over Zimmer.

Are there enough ABs for all 3 of Jansen, Kirk and Moreno between C and DH?

If 2 are playing every game, then yes. They effectively play 2 of every 3 games, which is 108 games. They can do pitcher / hitter analytics on the days they aren't playing.

    Moreno LF

Get us a little bit of a Kyle Schwarber, who fucking cares if he can handle it, situation. Why not?

I agree fellas. 2/3 of the time is good enough as it is but get him in LF as well. Schwarber did it but Varsho does it even better and Moreno is really athletic so I'm sure he could be acceptable out there.

So let's call up Moreno and option our worst reliever. Play him at C/DH/LF and sit Gurriel a bit more often. I'd also consider Lukes or Biggio for Zimmer as well.

In addition I'd probably just tweak the lineup constantly. Maybe Go Springer at 1, Vlad at 2 and Bichette at 4 but the other spots would all be interchangeable.

I'd also fire the hitting coach. Probably not his fault but it's a tough business and I like the idea of a wake up call.

I'd also institute a no bongos rule for all coaches/managers and no home run jacket or sunflower seed/water bucket pranks until the team is in first place in the division.
