When you are getting your ass kicked it can be hard to find the time to use your top relievers. Instead of using Richards would have been an easy spot. But otherwise he should have employed earlier hooks on guys.
EDIT: Yeah I was thinking the same thing.
I guess
Game 1 it is 5-3 top 7th. Genesis Cabrera gives up 4 runs, blows the game.
Game 2 it is 3-0 top 7th. Yimi Garcia gives up 2 runs, game over.
Game 4 it is 4-2 top 8th. Trevor Richards gives up 5 runs, game over.
It's not exactly "using Ubaldo Jimenez over prime Zack Britton in extra innings in the playoffs" but the same sort of logic, on a much much tinier scale, three times over.

It starts with game 1 too though. Left Bassit in way longer than they should’ve when it was clear he was struggling, presumably because they wanted to save the pen for the rest of the series. But then they don’t even end up using Romano a single time, and Hicks gets 1 appearance in a blowout.
Doesn’t make a lot of sense to me with this being the pivotal series of the season.
Again, like I said there seemed to be no sense of urgency in this series.
God awful offense. JS can't be blamed for that!
For all the hate JS gets, his decision to pinch hit Biggio for Chapman, single handedly saved the game for the Jays today. Score a win for Schneider today. He made all the right moves. Chapman looked pissed too, but these are the tough decisions that good managers make, even if it pisses off a veteran player.
