Moreover Atkins job is on the line after Bongos dismissal. Everyone should be able to see this.
It’s not MLB The Show. For everyone trade, there’s probably 200 man hours exploring one. And any FA that has potential or is good, is going to have a number of suitors. Even I’m not suggesting Jays are sitting on their hands

A perfectly timed fangraphs article. Anyone who wonders about projection systems, just go through the list of the biggest misses on the plus and minus side and you should notice a trend.

Generally, the largest misses on either side are due to breakouts, very limited data from the MLB and relying on minor league numbers, or falls off cliffs.
The article states the Mean Average Error for players OPS+ is 16.3 which is quite good all things considered. I wonder what the MAE for OPS+ would be if the sample only included players who were injured and came back in season? In season injuries may wreak havoc with MAE for players like Teo last season. I would have to see the numbers to be sure though.

It's very unlikely we replace that production at that term.

You can easily hand out a Kikuchi contract and Swanson loses 1 tick and he's dog shit, and you just cost yourself 3-4 wins in a blink of an eye. Teo is a pretty solid bet to hit next year. His track record has been surprisingly steady.
Doubtful Teoscar is worth 4 wins next year. Yes it is very unlikely the Jays sign someone for 1/13 worth 4 WAR.

More realistic is they brought in a 1 WAR reliever and have x million to address the outfield and improve the defense.

I said earlier the Mariners moved a good BP arm and a good prospect so that they donít have to commit to 5 years of a corner OF.

But you came out and stated that “it is entirely possible that there is no other shoe” to drop. If you meant something other than the apparent meaning it didn’t come across like that.

I meant it’s possible no shoe drops!? I didn’t say it was probable. I also wasn’t saying Jays weren’t trying. By news sources, we know they kick the tires on like every fucking player that may even be the slightest bit available.

But I’m sure they won’t force something. And they’re very fond of 26th man upside moves

Yes, the No. 1 option is trade, ideally with d'backs. If that falls through, I expect Jays will sign one of the FA OF in short order.

Things can actually start picking up. Baseball off-season is so drawn out. Its not like the NBA and NHL where everyone basically signs the day free agency starts.

No labour dispute on the horizon to really fuck things up, so that's a bonus this season.

Jerry Dipoto says he engaged the Jays front office right after the lockout this spring about trading for Teoscar then. Says they "came up short" with what the Jays were looking for in return. Still wanted him so tried again in the off season.

Not ridiculous. Having 3 top 10-15 C on a team is ridiculous, having 2 top 10-15 C on a team is a luxury.

Would be nice to pave the way for Danny to be an everday player.
