In the end Lowe ended up being the deciding factor in that deal. I like Ashby a lot though but I agree, I think Max has at least 2-3 elite years remaining, but the inning totals have been waning for a few years now.

Yeah, Scherzer now feels like Kershaw of the last few years more than the workhorse who was a lock for 200 IP and 250 Ks.

For me he just screams classic Brewers guy, and that org is excellent at developing pitching. They’re putting the training wheels on him still but it’s only a matter of time until they trade one of their rotation pieces/someone goes down with injury and he emerges as a lock in their rotation. The stuff is filthy, and big velo from the left side to go with it.

Yup, I agree 100%. I just had to let him go since I needed a big OF bat and it takes something to get something. So I traded him to the Reds for Santander, who’s projections I love.
