The Phillies are putting a couple guys on the block for those looking for some extra pieces during the stretch run:
Alex Cobb: 2.92 xERA; 2.92 FIP. Been essentially a #2 pitcher all year.
- Asking Price: Top 50 Prospect + 1st Round Pick
Kenley Jansen: another year as a top-tier closer. 24 saves; 2.82 FIP
- Asking Price: Top 50 prospect + 2nd Round Pick
Given the score in my matchup this week and Arizona leading 13-2, I've decided to write off this season and focus on retooling for 2023. Especially with both Story and Bryant on the IL and Buxton not 100%. Here are some names I'm putting on the block that could help teams during the stretch run:
Joe Musgrove:
- He's an elite starter and is 29. It needs to be a really good package of high talent prospects who are close to the Majors.
Liam Hendricks and/or Craig Kimbrel:
- Two top elite closers who could solidify any teams bullpen. Need a top 50 prospect for either + a high pick or a young BP arm who could help me next season.
Daniel Bard:
- have received interest from multiple teams. Still prefer a late first rounder or early second round pick for him though. Pitching very well still and getting saves, so he can be of help to any playoff contender.
Scott Barlow:
- Pitching well and getting saves in KCs bullpen, so he can be of help to any playoff contender. Looking for a late first rounder + a BP arm that could help me next season.
Jordan Lyles:
- a great option for SP depth and innings. Lyles has put up respectable numbers and any team with a thin rotation could benefit from his innings. 9 wins, 4.40 FIP, 105 K's, 2.44 K/9. Looking for an asset that could help me next season.
Chad Kuhl:
- another decent option for SP depth and innings who is expected back Aug 19th. Asking price not that high - can take on a IL reliever or SP or bat that could help me next season.
Matt Moore:
- has SP eligibility and has put up solid ratios this season. 6 holds, 2.73 xERA, 3.11 FIP, 56 K's Might sneak in a Hold or two and add some K's which can help in a really tight matchup during the Playoffs. Looking for a early second round pick + a reliever that could help me next season.
Trey Mancini:
- have received interest on him. Looking for similar valued MLB pieces who could be on the IL that could help me next season. Or a Top-50 prospect.

Love that for P2F

I feel like there's a piece missing to that trade.
Personally, I would rather have Nola than all the other stuff combined, but adding in Mantiply, Pederson and Smyly makes it kind of ridiculous.
Can maybe see some justification if you just look at the prospect rankings, but really should have shopped around a little more than this.

It's Zac Veen again.
Some people think he's an elite fantasy prospect and others think he's just a guy

Rockies top hitting prospects from 2016, 2018, and 2020:
2016
Brendan Rodgers
Ryan McMahon
Davil Dahl
Dom Nunez
Trevor Story
Raimel Tapia
Forrest Wall
Tyler Nevin
2018
Brendan Rodgers
Ryan McMahon
Colton Welker
Ryan Vilade
Garrett Hampson

Forrest Wall
Tom Murphy
Brian Mundell
Yonathan Daza
Sam Hilliard
Daniel Montano
Wes Rogers
2020
Zac Veen
Drew Romo
Ezequiel Tovar
Elehuris Montero
Warming Bernabel
Benny Montgomery
Brenton Doyle
Yanquiel Fernandez
Dyan Jorge
Adael Amador
Juan Brito
Colton Welker
I honestly think that their only development success on the hitting side, going back 8 years or so, is Trevor Story. Ryan McMahon should be an above average hitter and he isn't - they are getting maybe a 20th percentile outcome out of him. Tapia was turned into shit. Hilliard, Hampson, Vilade, Welker, all ruined. Rodgers obviously hasn't met his potential, not even close. David Dahl essentially only has some positive career fWAR because of BABIP and injuries preventing him from putting up negative WAR seasons.
