If you ignore the opening day meltdown Berrios has pitched to a 4.02 ERA/4.05 FIP, both ERA and FIP are within percentage points of his career numbers and he's obviously been trending upwards as the season progresses.
Not to mention that during crunch time last season in his last 7 starts while the Jays were trying to chase down a playoff spot he pitched like an ace with a 2.93 ERA / 2.87 FIP

He’s got a 4.75 ERA and not much better FIP. That would classify as back-end. I could cherry pick out a good start to make his numbers worse, just like you could a bad one. What good is that.

He’s been a disappointment. Doesn’t mean he won’t turn it around, or that it’s a bad contract already. It’s just facts. I’m not betting against him. The whole thing is just still up in the air on which way it goes

Between Carroll, Alek Thomas and Lawlar - the Diamondbacks might have something soon.

I'm sure you can recognize that one extremely bad start is having an outsized effect on his overall season numbers right now. His overall numbers as a Blue Jay are right at his career averages, and aside from one putrid start (I'm giving him a mulligan on that one due to several circumstances including the super long pregame ceremony which may have affected his warmup routine) his ERA and FIP are once again right at his career averages. In this rotation he looks to be the number 3 starter given the strong starts of Manoah and Gausman. If he continues to produce at his career rate the contract will be perfectly fine, but he has displayed potential for better than that at times so there may eventually be surplus value to be had.

He's been pretty ass in May. Overall numbers look decent thanks to that hot April.

You can charm a manager, but you can't hypnotize a walrus.

He’s been one of my favourite prospects to follow this season. Still only 19 years old, so 2 years younger than the average age in A-ball.

    April splits: .183/.290/.250, .540 OPS
    May splits: .369/.411/.714, 1.125 OPS

17% strikeout rate, 9% walk rate, .312 BABIP. So good peripherals and not outrageously lucky either.

    Home Run #1: 104 mph
    Home Run #2: 109 mph

We seem to have really good luck with prospects whose name start with Gabriel M.

Any reason why Zulu was pulled after only 64 pitches? Hasn't he been consistently going past that?

His pitches by game so far:

    Low A

    59
    65
    73

    High A

    77
    64

Does seem weird he was pulled mid inning (3.2 IP), but hopefully nothing.
