At least he brought us Scott Boras (he was Scotty's first client). Hard to believe the 5 year $8.7M deal was one of the biggest at the time for a non free agent.
He also got Bobby Cox'd who believed that relievers had to throw 3 pitches. Caudill went from a 100 inning guy in Oakland K'ing almost 1 per inning...to a 70 inning guy who struck out 6 and walked 4.5. Even with those ugly numbers he managed to FIP beat a 2.99 ERA out the shit. Shoulder problems as well I suppose. Fun memories of those mid 80's teams.
